We selected this wine because the Airfield Estate is based in the Yakima Valley, Washington State.  On this fourth generation family farm they cultivate a wide range of premium grapes and have expanded to over 25 varietals spanning 860 acres.    

The sunny slopes, which are nestled in the Rattlesnake Mountains, allow for a longer growing period with extended summer daylight.

As the name suggests it has ties with aviation with a portion of the property operating as a training base for Army Air Corps during World War II.

This big and bold wine has a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 4% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot showcasing the darker fruits.
