Adegas Gran Vinum

A privately owned winery and vineyards owned by the Pineiro Cores family for a number of decades now. Albarino is perhaps Spain's greatest white grape variety and is best suited to this Atlantic coast of Galicia where it ripens early and fully yet retains wonderful elegance and poise. These vineyards are within sight of the sea and take on some of its airy salinity in character which makes it so perfect with the seafood landed along this coast.

The family have a beautiful brand new winery, all stainless steel production, the aim is to capture the delicate fruit and salinity of the place, oak would get in the wine of the purity of these wines. Grapes are hand harvested, gentle pressing, juice is separated from the skins and fermentation is temperature controlled. The wine rests on its less after fermentation for some complexity to develop, is racked, rested and bottled. Freshness and cleanliness is vital with Albarino to retain its delicacy and nervous energy.
