Guicciardini Strozzi Millanni Rosso 2007
This Super Tuscan is a very concentrated ruby red blend of Sangiovese 40%, Cabernet Sauvignon 30%, Merlot 30% with attractive garnet highlights denoting maturity. On the nose there's an abundance of red fruits and elegant spicy notes from oak ageing. It has an excellent structure with imposing but smooth tannins and a very long finish.
Made for the first time with in 1994 to commemorate and celebrate a thousand years of Cusona, the Strozzi family's historic winery, Millanni is made only in the finest years.
Vinified and matured for 18 months in French oak barriques. A long period of bottle ageing takes places in the age-old Cusona cellars.
Great with serious meat dishes.
