Vineyard

The Leistenberg vineyard lies in a side valley off the Nahe, it's name most likely comes from the soils and stepply terraced slopes - leisten in German means 'perform' or to achieve. Warm soils, steep slopes of grey clay slate and an excellent SE facing aspect means this is a perfectly sited vineyard. The sun is strong in the morning, drying any dew quickly, but is less strong in the afternoon which means an extended ripening period producing wines that whilst low in alcohol have full flavour development

Winemaking

All stainless steel fermenation and aging, long, cool fermentations to maximise freshness and clarity of fruit character

Food match

Thai fusion cooking, duck and goose, also delightful to drink alone
