Intense red with purple reflections, with a complex nose with nuances of spices and red fruit jam. On the palate it's full-bodied, with a good structure and some tannin. It's a hug in a glass.
Salento and Manduria areas, traditionally well suited for the growing of this vine variety. Some say the Primitivo grape is the same as Californian Zinfandel because of it's deep spicy jammy flavour profile.
Traditional on-the-skin vinification with prolonged maceration (20/25 days) to convey body and consistence to the future wine. It then rests on the noble lees for some months and is finally bottled after a large-mash filtering to preserve the product character and keep it robust.
Serve with red meat or cheese, serve at 16 – 18° C. Will benefit from decanting or being allowed to breathe before drinking.
